Vinyasa Krama: The Energetics of Sequencing

Friday, September 17, 2010, 9:00am - 12:00pm

Integrating the wisdom of yoga, physiology, Ayurveda and Tantra, the energetics of sequencing is the science that sheds light on how to fulfill the potential of practice as well as reach our highest capacity as teachers and practitioners. In this master class Rod outlines the ancient principles of how to combine any and all asanas to achieve desired energetic effects, make challenging postures more accessible and transformative, and design evermore masterful practices.

WEEKEND WORKSHOP
Para Yoga Weekend Immersion

Friday, September 17, 2010 – Sunday, September 19, 2010

Workshop Itinerary:

Friday afternoon, September 17, 2010, 2:00pm-5:00pm
Tantra Vidya: Yoga's Path to Power and Prosperity

Through theory and practice we explore the science of Tantra as the most comprehensive and complete approach to yoga. We highlight this ancient tradition's philosophy and explore Tantra's approach to yoga practice which could best be summed up as true "power yoga" – where the focus is helping you prosper in every area and aspect of life.

Saturday morning, September 18, 2010, 9:30am-12:30pm
Yoga and Ayurveda: The Vital Essences

The three vital essences (prana, tejas, and ojas) provide guiding principles that allow us to approach Yoga as alchemy. These subtle forces are a basis to heal as well as transform body and mind. We will overview the key yogic teachings of Ayurveda and the yoga practices that increase and balance each of the vital essences.

Saturday afternoon, September 18, 2010, 2:30pm-5:30pm
ParaYoga: Theory and Application of Bandha

Bandha, the next step after asana, is the gateway to mastering the energetics of yoga. Perfection of bandha increases the possibilities of asana to heal and balance, steady the mind, build creative power, and open the path toward the culmination of practice – self-realization. We explore the "what" and "why" of bandha and then, through practice, experience its effect on heightening the power and effect of asana.

Sunday morning, September 19, 2010, 9:00am-12:00pm
