Kathy Ross

I teach yoga because I want to make everyday a source of healing. It is my love and my passion. Mind, body and spirit come together for me in the energies of movement and the calm of breath of yoga. I began teaching yoga in 2003 after practicing for several years. In all my teaching, I focus on deep tissue release, joint mobility, and strength. Yoga can help anyone heal the aches of their body and spirit. It can also help athletes of all ages improve their performance and avoid or help heal injuries. I am particularly aware of these healing qualities of yoga because of my experience and education as a Registered Nurse. I find teaching yoga, itself, to be a form of meditative attention and flow, in which I help students find their own physical balance and spiritual integrity. I strive to harmonize the mechanics of the body with a yogic sensibility of mind and spirit. In yoga, we sync breath with movement to create rhythm, melody and harmony. As a classical pianist, I understand the need to sync finger and hand movements to create rhythm, melody and harmony. Music is a powerful force in my life. That is how the name Yoga Forte was created. In music, Forte means to play with strength, building volume. This can be achieved in a yoga class. Forte also means something someone excels in, something in which a person shows extraordinary ability. I am offering this training for students and teachers to excel, have the extraordinary ability to practice and teach yoga. There is special meaning for me in both my piano and yoga practice. I completed my 200 hour RYT certification from Purple Lotus and 500 hour RYT certification from Live Love Teach. In addition, I have trained with Baron Baptiste, Ana Forrest, Rodney Yee, Ray Long, M.D., Shakta Kur Kalsa, and many others. I have a Radiant Child certification, level 2.
