First order of business the next morning: MASSAGE to knead out lingering jet lag and energize you for a full day of touring. Explore the ancient history of Wat Po, be dazzled by the glittering gold of the Grand Palace, wander the crowed alleys of Chinatown, then feel the wind in your hair as we travel by boat along the famous Chao Phraya river.
we travel to the Northern capital of Thailand to Chiang Mai.
I will share favorite hidden treasures of the city including: the best places to buy goodies for friends back home, delicious meals, the heartbeat of Chiang Mai-Warorat Market.
We invite you to explore your inner self on an overnight meditation retreat at one of the Wat?s (temples) of the city.
Fill up on night markets, massage, tuk tuk rides, fish pedicures (if you so dare?).
One evening we light kom loys (giant paper balloons filled with hot air) that float into the sky with our personal wishes for the year to come (The sky is full of thousands of these 'balloons)! Inarguably one of the most special celebrations of the journey!
A private transfer brings you to the hidden valley of Chiang Dao. Noted as one of the most magical spots in Northern Thailand, Chiang Dao will be your home away from home while you explore your yogic side. Our favorite day is at the elephant sanctuary. After a visit to the banana market to collect tons of bananas, pineapples and cucumbers for the elephants? breakfast, we drive to a jungle valley, home to 33+ elephants that now live free. Breakfast feeding, sloppy trunk kisses, bathing in the river, lounging on the platforms watching baby elephants play in the mud. After an delicious lunch you can choose to return to the river to play with the elephants during their afternoon bath or indulge in a massage drifting off to the trumpeting of mother elephants.
this year we will also include a visit to the Beach! You can explore the waters with opportunity for snorkling or scuba diving, ice bars and of course lots of massages and wonderful food!October
