Event Description: 

Agni, Ama and digestion according to the pancha kosha model. You will leave with a thorough understanding of Ayurveda as it relates to Food and Digestion:

  • The six tastes and proper diet
  • Internal and external practices to regulate agni
  • Developing clinical awareness of asana, pranayama, meditation and diet/lifestyle as it relates to digestion and assimilation.

About this Presenter: 

Sarah Guglielmi

Sarah Guglielmi has been on a personal journey of healing and spiritual growth for over 15 years. She has taught yoga since 2002 in corporate, studio, and clinical settings. Originally drawn to yoga practice to relieve chronic stress and illness, Sarah has not only regained her health, but has discovered a spiritual dimension of life she finds rich and inspiring. Sarah serves on the teaching faculty of the Himalayan Institute and is the Professional Education Manager at their headquarters, where she has lived in residence since 2004. She holds a Masters Degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Delaware, and completed an eight-year engineering career with W.L. Gore and Associates, prior to joining the Institute.

Kendall Inman

Kendall Inman was first introduced to ashtanga yoga in college over 25 years ago. She is a 200hr (ERYT), and a certified Ayurveda Yoga Specialist. You may recognize Kendall as the founder of Living Yoga Dallas. In that capacity she has produced and participated in dozens of local yoga workshops over the past 10 years with the world's finest yoga masters and highly influential yoga teachers. Kendall has participated in multiple teacher trainings with Rod Stryker, Manju Jois, Beryl Bender Birch, Judith Lasater, and Baron Baptiste. Kendall has studied meditation and relaxation techniques at the Himalayan Institute in Pennsylvania and received her certification in Relax and Renew Restorative Yoga from top Physical Therapist Judith Lasater. Kendall teaches daily yoga classes, works with private clients in yoga, Ayurveda and mediation and teaches internationally. She loves to teach Yoga for Athletes, work with all levels of students and her vinyasa flow classes are accessible to all levels of practice, yet vigorous and challenging, with very special attention to breath and alignment. Kendall is especially interested in encouraging her students to connect movement with breath, to calm and steady the mind. And to live a lifestyle that is rewarding and joyful.

Eat – Taste – Heal: An Ayurvedic Cookbook for Modern Living by Thomas Yarema, Daniel Rhoda and Johnny Brannigan.

Optional dinacharya self care packages can be purchased in advance and picked up at the training. Includes Neti Pot, Salt, Chywanprash, nasaya oil, sesame triphala oil, coconut oil, tongue scraper, triphala powder: $75.00. Items will also be available for sale separately to replenish as needed.

Cancellation Policy: 

ADMINISTRATION FEE: A $100.00 administration fee will be applied to each and every cancellation/refund. Refunds less $100 can only be made up to 30 days prior to the event. After 30 days the balance less the non refundable administrative fee of $100 can be applied to a future AYS training only. Exceptions to this policy cannot be made for any reason, including weather, traffic, illness, parking or personal emergencies.

Parking:

Due to Urban development, limited space and the exciting growth of Living Yoga Dallas events, we cannot guarantee a parking place per participant. Parking will be on a first-come, first-served basis. In the case of this event we should have no trouble with parking as our attendance is not more than the spaces available. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
